| Job Description: | This is a Configuration Mgmt Analyst II position. Configuration Management Analyst (CMA) Responsible for the development and implementation of Configuration Management (CM) requirements pertaining to software and/or hardware products in accordance with established CM policy/procedures. Performs configuration identification, version control, request change control, status accounting, configuration verification, and release scheduling. Conducts reviews and audits. Creates and maintains CM credentials. Performs software builds and deployments. Responsible for the design, coding, testing, commenting, implementation and sustainment of CM software application tools.

• Improve knowledge of CM best practices and processes, such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Configuration Management Maturity Integrated (CMMI) model, Six-Sigma, and LEAN Initiatives.

• Knowledge of the following tools is needed: PL/SQL, Oracle database objects, their dependencies, and deployment order.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following tools is a plus: Unix Commands, Java, Coldfusion, PowerBuilder, Mainframe, IBM Product Suite, Atlassian product suite, Perforce, Subversion, Version Manager, Team Track, Team Scripting, Crystal Reports, and TOAD.
Training:
• Responsible for training lower level CMA in the skills required to complete their tasks.
• Proactively perform self-study about tools that improve the effectiveness of configuration management, including but not limited to: Unix Commands, Oracle, Java, Coldfusion, PowerBuilder, Mainframe, IBM Product Suite, Atlassian product suite, Perforce, Subversion, Version Manager, Team Track, Team Scripting, Crystal Reports, and TOAD.
Activities:
• Executes software builds for release of code to test and production environments.
• Serves as the primary Release Manager for deployment of standard Oracle database objects. Runs the scripts to deploy Oracle database objects, and monitors the progress of the deployment. Identifies and analyzes errors generated from the Oracle deployments. Resolves errors associated with the deployment process, and reports code errors back to the appropriate team.
• Works independently to provide after-hours support for Oracle deployments on a rotating basis.
• Creates and maintains all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and documentation required for Oracle deployments.
• Provides cross-training and mentoring support to other team members in regards to Oracle deployments.
• Assists with the development and sustainment of CM applications using one or more of the accepted development languages or tools. Writes scripts and/or Java plug-ins to customize the CM applications.
• Programs approved coding changes to CM applications under the direct supervision of senior-level CMA. Includes programmer comments for any code changed or developed.
• Assists with testing and debugging CM applications.
• Works with the user to help identify requirements. Performs analysis to determine the impact of programming changes to CM applications. Identifies and presents technical options to senior-level CMA for review.
• Capable of working alone on small projects or working in a teaming environment on larger projects.
• Performs product testing, configuration verification, and quality assurance checks for software releases. Coordinates waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
• Responsible for overall establishment of release schedules and coordination of configuration items to be deployed.
• Participates in Functional and Physical configuration audits. Ensures configuration items adhere to CM standards and reports audit results.
• Identifies CM non-conformances and works with the various groups to resolve.
• Provides customer support and training to end-users of the CM process.
• Must possess excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
