| Job Description: | This is a Configuration Management Analyst IV position.
• Develop and implement configuration management (CM) requirements pertaining to automatic identification technology (AIT), AIT integration platform, item unique identification (IUID), switched architecture wireless local area network (SAWLAN) software and hardware products for the Army Materiel Command (AMC) enterprise. • Define, develop, and maintain the configuration management plan and process. • Recommend and maintain the configuration items. • Perform configuration identification, version control, request change control, status accounting, configuration verification, and release scheduling. • Prepare for and support the AMC G6 Configuration Control Board. • Conduct reviews and physical and functional audits. • Establish and maintain CM credentials. • Support various working groups or Integrated Product Teams, as required in support of the overall AIT mission. • Define and implement Quality Assurance checks for the CM process.
Activities:
• Works independently with the user to interpret functional requirements for CM applications. • Develops programming standards for CM applications, and trains team members on the approved standards. • Works with the Database Administrators and/or System Administrators to install and maintain the software tracking tools and version control tools. • Has experience as a member of development teams that have produced moderate to complex CM applications. • Actively participates in application design, database design, schema layout and data loading for CM applications. • Displays ability to interact and collaborate on functional and technical issues within a team. • Creates and provides specialized CM status accounting for change requests. • Lead for any CM audit requirement. • Provides senior management, functional groups and technical groups with audit results, including status of findings and action items. • Work with software development teams to establish the necessary software control procedures. • Prepares comprehensive CM Plans and directives; organizes and implements approved CM policies and procedures. • Must be able to work independently • Must be a team player and work well with myriad technical, functional, and managerial experts.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
